Bryan is 5 and Luke is 3! This was one of my favorite photos of the boys. They are so "together", great brothers for certain.

1/2 way through the year!

I can't believe the boys are already 6 months older, Bryan 4 1/2 and Luke 2 1/2!

Both are doing GREAT! Bryan is writing is name very well and Luke is potty training and saying new words daily. The boys play together really well and love each other very much!

Jeremy and I are doing great too! Work is going really good for Jeremy and he is busy with the Knights of Columbus (a Catholic mens group through church). I have started a new program at church for the home bound, setting up rides to Mass for them.

Hope to hear from all of you!

Love,
Melinda and the boys

Look who's 4 & 2

The boys had their b-day's, hard to believe they are 4 and 2!

They had a "kiddy" party with all their friends and then celebrated on each of their actual b-day's with close family.

On Luke's b-day we visited the NICU saying "hi" to all his nurses and doctors. Bringing cupcakes and blueberries to thank them for all their hard work. It paid off!

Both Bryan and Luke are doing GREAT!!!!!

Here are some latest pictures.  Enjoy!

And Climb.
After seeing the roses, it was time to climb.
Stop and smell the roses, especially at the Rose Garden.
I love popsicles!
My first popsicle.
Luke takes over the wheel.
Zoo time!  Is that a bear behind us?
Is there mud on my face?  Boys will be boys!

The picture of both the boys is from Easter.  We're enjoying the nicer weather and being outside a lot more.  The boys love being outside and really put up a fuss when it's time to go inside.  Bryan is a great big brother and very helpful.  He loves that train set more than anything and loves to color and draw.  Luke is learning to talk.  He does syllables, but not quite getting the whole word out, but he's very close!  He said "duck" recently, so I know more words are coming soon, however he's getting to be a great communicator, letting us know what he wants and doesn't want, it has helped a lot that we can do that now.  He loves books and story time.  Really enjoying the fun we're having with the boys!

Thought you would like to see what the boys are up to.

Bryan is having fun finding worms and Luke is climbing and that includes climbing in and out of drawers.

Both the boys LOVE being outside and we like that the weather is getting warmer!!

1 year ago today

January has been a great month!  Especially because we've had on our minds how Luke came home from the hospital this month.  And today Luke turning 18months old, marks his 1 year homecoming.  We celebrated with his Godparents, his primary nurse Barb and tonight with his grandparents.  Friday Luke will celebrate some more with his 2 other main nurse's (Bryn and Christie).
Even though a year ago seems like awhile ago, what we went through with Luke is still fresh on our minds.  It just takes a quick thought or a photo of that time to bring memories vivid in our minds.
I've thought a lot about what I prayed for with Luke (besides pleading for his life), I prayed that he could run around and play with his brother and be happy.  And today, those prayers are answered.

A Christmas gift!

Christmas was wonderful with both our boys, however Luke gave us a special gift on Christmas day by taking his first steps.  He lit up with the biggest smile, a great achievement.  He's walking all over the place now!

Winter fun!

I thought I would share a few recent pictures with you.

The boys are doing great!  Growing and growing like crazy!  Bryan now tells us little stories and started singing to us too, Jingle Bells is a favorite, just adorable!  He loves sledding, even with a recent face plant in the ice, he just got up and headed down the hill again.  He loves spending time painting, coloring and doing puzzles.  Of course his train set is still great fun for him.  His Aunt Julie gave him a little tent last spring and lately on the day's he takes a nap, he wants to nap in it.

Luke is on the verge of walking any moment.  He's "cruising" around the house.  He's taken one step so far, but we know he'll be chasing Bryan any day now.  He waves and claps now and loves dancing.  He just wants to be doing what Bryan is doing.  His last doctors appt. he hadn't gained any weight, so we're adding "butter" to all his food and since we started that I can tell it's working.  We're plumping him up!  He's starting to branch out his diet with more foods too.  And the biggest thing is, he is off formula, still sensitive to milk, so he's on soy milk.

Hope you are all having a warm, safe and fun holiday season!

Halloween was great fun for the boys! Bryan the elephant and Luke the bear! They both had great fun, but Luke was right on cue with some bear growls as the evening progressed, he just wanted to go to bed.
Bryan could of gone through the whole neighborhood. It was great fun for all of us!

Hernia surgery success!

Luke's hernia surgery went well yesterday. His excellent surgeon Dr. Bliss said he's never seen a hernia like this resulting from a port hole incision, leave it to Luke to be the first. He has about a 1 1/2" incision. All the stitches are on the inside, with surgical glue on top, which makes for less worries when he's crawling around. Luke needed a little help clearing out his lungs after the surgery, but after that he was just grumpy from the icky feeling from the anesthesia. After some good pain medicine he rested comfortably during recovery and pretty much slept the rest of the day and night (a nice recovery for mom and dad too).
Today he's been playing with big brother Bryan and back to enjoying himself.
Thanks to all who were concerned!

Busy Boys!

Here's a picture of the boys playing together. It's great to see them play together more and more. Luke is hanging on to the toy basket, he loves to pull himself up on anything now. Bryan has one of his favorite hats on, his fireman's hat.
This Thursday Oct. 9th, Luke will have his hernia surgery. It's to repair a hernia from an incision point on his tummy from his intestinal surgery he had when he was in the hospital. He'll go in the a.m. and the surgery will be less than an hour and he'll be home that afternoon. A little nervous considering it is surgery, but it will be good to get this last little thing fixed.
